Where do I install the Glass Clamps or Patch Fittings on my balustrade

Personal preference as to how far from top and bottom of glass the clamps go. Our installers generally go in 100mm from each.

UNLESS using the seats on the bottom clamps – they go on the bottom (recommended if the glass is 1000mmW or more, to prevent slippage)

Having 3 clamps on each side, could count as a stepping point so generally just stick to two per side, but you can put clamps down the bottom for extra support as well.

For patch fittings, obviously the more glass they clamp onto the better. For the standard 970 Balustrade glass, the minimum amount of glass it can clamp to is 15mm either side. The larger the panel, the more is recommended.

Patch fittings for Pool glass (1200H 12mm thick) you can do as long you have strong posts – meaning posts that are attached to the ground & roof. It’s preferred to just stick to a frameless system on spigots for this glass as it is quite heavy. However please take care to refer to relevant standards to ensure our D & Square clamps are suitable for your needs as each installation situation/compliance requirement is unique.
