Most gate installations would be near the stairs, and they would either have a post or wall to hinge off which is more stable. If a hinge panel shattered at a height, the gate would fall and there would be no handrail to stop somebody from falling over the edge. We recommend hinging off a Post or a Wall.
Christmas Closure Dates
DIY Frameless Glass will be closed over the Christmas break from midday (AEST) Tuesday 23rd December 2025 until Tuesday 6th January 2026. Telephone and email will not be answered during this time.
Our online shop is open every day of the year for taking orders. However, all orders placed online after 19th December 2025, will be processed when we reopen on 6th January 2026.
